Guay Top-Five Leads Men’s Track & Field at UNF Spring Break Invitational

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (March 23, 2018) – Sophomore Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) turned in a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles on Friday to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team, as the program opened the outdoor season at the UNF Spring Break Invitational, hosted by University of North Florida. The Ravens turned in three top-15 finishes and a top-five relay performance on the day.

Guay's performance led the way for the Ravens on Friday. His mark of 54.46 seconds was good for fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, which marked the highest individual finish of the day for the team.

Guay also ran the lead leg on the 4x400-meter relay team, which turned in a fifth-place finish as well. It was a time of 3:22.29, turned in by Guay, freshman Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France), senior Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.) and graduate student Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda).

Minors, who is back in a Franklin Pierce uniform for his final season of eligibility, also placed 16th in the 400 meters to open the campaign. He posted a time of 50.15 seconds to finish just outside of the top-15. Arlabosse also added a top-20 behind Minors in the 400 meters, with a time of 50.92 seconds, to finish 20th.

Behind Guay in the 400-meter hurdles, freshman Colin Stoddard (Charlton, Mass.) cracked the top-15 as well. His time of 57.48 seconds was good for 14th place.

The remaining top-15 out on the track for the Ravens was also a top-10, courtesy of sophomore Jeff Reddy (Chester, N.H.). He placed ninth in the 5000 meters, with a run of 15:14.64.

Just outside the top 15 in the 5000 meters was senior Martin Gradijan (Lebanon, N.H.), who was 17th, with a time of 15:42.65. Reddy and Gradijan were two of four Ravens who turned in personal bests in the 5000 meters on Friday.

The Ravens return to action on Saturday, April 7, when they travel to the CGA Spring Invitational, hosted by the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn.
