Six Event Wins Highlight First-Place Finish for Men’s Track & Field at Panther Invitational

PLYMOUTH, N.H. (January 20, 2018) – Freshman Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) won twice and met an NEICAAA Championships qualifying mark in the process on Saturday, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team, which finished first at the Panther Invitational, hosted by Plymouth State University.

In all, the Ravens piled up 214 points to cruise to the meet victory. Host Plymouth State finished second with 134 points, while Colby-Sawyer and Eastern Connecticut State tied for third with 64 points each.

The stronger of Arlabosse's two victorious performances came in the mile, where he clocked in at 4:18.22. The time was good enough to meet the NEICAAA Championships qualifying standard in the event, and currently ranks third in both the Northeast-10 Conference and the East Region. Arlabosse also chalked up a win in the 800 meters, with a time of 1:57.07.

The Frenchman also ran the anchor leg on a victorious 4x800-meter relay squad for Franklin Pierce. A quartet of senior Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.), senior Martin Gradijan (Lebanon, N.H.), sophomore Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) and Arlabosse turned in a winning time of 8:17.32, which ranks third in both the NE10 and the East Region.

The Ravens also tallied a team victory in the 4x200-meter relay. Junior Jaris Neville (Atlanta, Ga.), sophomore Jebediah Hogan (Gloucester, Mass.), sophomore Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) and senior Nicholas Jacques (Westfield, Mass.) combined to run a 1:32.48 for the victory.

Neville and Jacques also both picked up individual event victories on the track. Neville took home first place in the 60-meter dash (7.18), while Jacques was the winner in the 200-meter dash (23.25).

Elsewhere, senior Rindal Pierre-Canel (Randolph, Mass.) did not win, but put together a solid mark of 13.28 meters while finishing second in the triple jump. The distance was not his season best, but was on par with the top-10 marks in the NE10 thus far this winter.

The Ravens return to action on Sunday, Jan. 21, when they travel to the GBTC Invitational in Boston.
