Arlabosse, Neville Lead Men’s Track & Field at Middlebury Winter Classic

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. (January 13, 2018) – Continuing to get back in the swing of things coming out of the semester break, the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team made its way to the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday. Freshman Hugo Arlabosse (Marseille, France) and junior Jaris Neville (Atlanta, Ga.) each met NEICAAA qualifying standards at the meet.

Arlabosse finished second in the 500 meters, with a run of 1:05.63, while Neville placed second in the 200 meters, with a time of 22.82 seconds. Both times were good enough to meet the NEICAAA qualifying marks in the respective events, though both runners had already previously qualified for the meet. Arlabosse added a third-place finish in the 1000 meters (2:39.13), while Neville tacked on a third-place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.09).

The Ravens picked up one win on the day, as sophomore Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) took home first place in the 800 meters (2:03.64). Meanwhile, three other student-athletes posted top-three finishes with marks of note on Saturday: junior Robert Boardman (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) finished second in the high jump (1.85m), senior Rindal Pierre-Canel (Randolph, Mass.) placed second in the triple jump (12.99m) and sophomore Trevor Guay (Londonderry, N.H.) took third in the 500 meters (1:07.18).

Franklin Pierce also added a third-place finish in the 4x400-meter relay. A quartet of senior Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.), Arlabosse, freshman Colin Stoddard (Charlton, Mass.) and Guay turned in a time of 3:31.43, which was good enough to rank fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference.

The Ravens return to action on Saturday, Jan. 20, when they travel to the Panther Invitational, hosted by Plymouth State, in Plymouth, N.H.
