RINDGE, N.H. (March 30, 2017) – Senior Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Track Athlete of the Year for the indoor season, as announced on Thursday afternoon by the Conference office. In addition, Minors was recently formally acknowledged as an All-American by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association for his work this winter.

The highlight of the season for Minors came at the John Thomas Terrier Invitational at Boston University on Jan. 27, when he clocked a time of 1:48.70 to finish second in the 800 meters. The time stood as the fastest time in the country for the remainder of the season and was the fifth-fastest time ever run in Division II history. Minors would go on to place fourth in the 800 at the NCAA Championships, securing his All-America honor.

Earlier in the winter, Minors laid claim to the 800-meter title at the NE10 Championships, as he turned in a time of 1:54.42 at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston on Feb. 18. The same day, he also helped the Ravens claim NE10 crowns in the 4x400-meter, 4x800-meter and distance medley relays. One week later, Minors took third place (1:49.10) at the NEICAAA Championships to earn All-New England honors in the 800.

The All-America accolade was the fourth for Minors in his career, and just the latest in a bevy of awards bestowed on the Bermudan in his time at Franklin Pierce. At the national level, he is also a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic selection, while advancing to represent the Ravens at the NCAA Championships on eight occasions.

At the regional level, Minors is a two-time selection as USTFCCCA East Region Athlete of the Year, has piled up 14 All-East Region selections and has earned All-New England honors on seven occasions. Within the NE10, he has captured 15 championships and claimed 19 All-Conference awards.

Minors has even seen recognition internationally, as he has been selected on three occasions to represent his native Bermuda as a member of the national team.

There may still be more to come for the most-decorated runner in Franklin Pierce history. Minors still has this spring's outdoor season, plus another season of outdoor track & field eligibility, remaining.
