BOSTON (February 25, 2017) – Senior Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) took home bronze in the 800-meter final on Saturday, while junior Rindal Pierre-Canel (Randolph, Mass.) finished fourth in the triple jump, as both earned All-New England honors to lead the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team on the second and final day of the NEICAAA Championships, held at Reggie Lewis Center.

Franklin Pierce collected 11 points on Saturday, which pushed its meet total to 15 and allowed the team to finish in a tie for 14th, out of 32 teams to score points.

Minors' bronze performance came in one of the most competitive events of the entire meet. His third-place time of 1:49.10 marked the third time this winter he has met the NCAA Championships automatic qualifying standard in the event. Minors picked up six points and All-New England honors for his run, while his time was just 11 hundredths of a second behind the event's winner, Sacred Heart junior Trevor Guerrera.

Meanwhile, Pierre-Canel backed up Friday's All-New England performance in the long jump with a fourth-place, All-New England finish in the triple jump on Saturday. His mark of 14.33 meters was a new personal best and earned five points for the Ravens.

Elsewhere on Saturday, the Ravens had a trio of competitors in the 60-meter hurdles. Senior Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.) led the way in 19th, with a time of 8.63 seconds, while junior Craig Telfer (Lebanon, N.H.) placed 22nd, with a mark of 8.78 seconds, and senior Mark Choiniere (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) took 27th, with a time of 9.05 seconds.

The 60-meter dash and the mile each saw a pair of Ravens take part at the Reggie Lewis Center. In the 60-meter dash, sophomore Jaris Neville (Atlanta, Ga.) placed 18th (7.17), while junior Nicholas Jacques (Westfield, Mass.) finished 20th (7.18). In the mile, it was senior B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.) in 17th (4:23.08) and freshman Tyler Hayes (Kings Park, N.Y.) in 24th (4:28.48).

Two other Ravens added top-20 finishes in their events as well on Saturday. In the 3000 meters, it was a time of 8:49.22 for freshman Jeff Reddy (Chester, N.H.), who finished 15th. In the shot put, it was a throw of 13.65 meters for freshman Domenic Branco (Pelham, N.H.), who placed 19th.

For the men's team, Saturday was not the end of the line for the indoor season. Minors has already punched his ticket to the NCAA Championships in the 800 meters, and will head to Birmingham, Ala. on March 10-11 to compete. Both Minors (mile, 1000m) and Cataldo (long jump) are currently listed as scheduled to compete in Sunday's Last Chance Meet, hosted by Boston University.
