Wooten Takes 14th in Triple Jump for Men’s Track & Field at NCAA Championships

BRADENTON, Fla. (May 28, 2016) – Graduate student Andre Wooten (St. Charles, Mo.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team rounded out the 2015-16 campaign and his collegiate career on Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Championships. In his final performance at the college level, Wooten finished 14th in the triple jump.

Wooten turned in a hop, skip and jump of 14.95 meters on his first attempt, which would stand as his farthest of the day, and was good for 14th in the 19-athlete field. Minnesota State sophomore Michael Sandle took home the national title, with a mark of 16.22 meters. He was followed by St. Augustine's senior David Shaw in second (16.08m), while Findlay senior Michael Bruce rounded out the top three (15.98m). Each of the top three competitors scored their best mark in the day's second round of jumps.
