Bohi Meets Qualifying Standard for NCAA Championship at Brown Invitational

PROVIDENCE, R.I.  (April 11, 2015) – Five members of the Franklin Pierce University Men's Track and Field team set the records for the Northeast-10 on Saturday at the Brown Invitational hosted by Brown University.  Junior Chris Bohi (Loudon, N.H.) placed first in the javelin setting the record for the NE-10 and also meeting the provisional qualifying  standard for the NCAA Championships.

Senior Kevin Sadoski (Glastonbury, Conn.) placed 14th in the 100-meter dash, posting his season best with a time of 11.33 and pushing him to ninth place in the NE-10.

Sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) placed second in the 400 meters with the fastest time this spring in the NE-10 with a time of 49.34.

Junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) placed first in the mile with a time of 4:24.01

Junior Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.H.) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles, earning the top spot this spring in the NE-10 with a time of 14.92. He also placed fourth in the high jump, 1.95 meters, also earning the top spot in the NE-10.

Sophomore Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.08. However, his time in the 110-meter hurdles preliminaries, 15.55, ranks fourth in the NE-10. He also placed fifth in the 400-meter hurdles, 57.64.

The 4x400- meter relay team - Biunno, freshman Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.), freshman Nicholas Jacques (Westfield, Mass.), and Cataldo – finished first in the event with a time of 3:24.90 which is the fastest time so far this spring in the NE-10.

Bohi placed first in javelin with a distance of 58.81meters, the farthest throw so far this spring in the NE-10 . His distance also meets the provisional qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships.

The team returns to action on Wednesday April 15th at the Holy Cross Decathlon.
