Minors and Biunno compete in day one of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (March 13, 2015) – Junior Vinny Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) and sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parrish, Bermuda) both put up solid numbers on Friday afternoon, as both Men's Track and Field members competed in the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. The event is being co-hosted by the University of Alabama-Huntsville and the Birmingham CrossPlex.

Minors put himself into serious championship conversation, as he took home first place in the second heat for the 800 meter dash with a time of 1:52.92. The top time on the day was 1:50.73, and Minors' top time on the season was 1:50.72, making him a threat to take home the championship tomorrow. The 800 meter final will be held tomorrow at 5:10 p.m.

Biunno stands 12th out of 14 competitors after the first day of the heptathlon with 2,640 points. He stands 543 points behind the leader.
