4x800 meter relay team of Minors, Gisore, Carpenter, and Holmes make headlines for Men’s Track & Field

RINDGE, N.H. (February 14, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce Men's Track & Field team was busy on a busy Valentine's Day on Saturday, as the Ravens split up members to compete in both the Millrose Games held in New York, N.Y., and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational held at Boston University in Boston, Mass. The Ravens received a lot of love, especially from their 4x800 meter relay team who took home a strong finish at the Millrose Games.

The relay team of Dage Minors (Hamilton Parrish, Bermuda), Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.), Matt Carpenter (Gloucester, Mass.), and Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.) took home a fourth place finish in the race, but wound up being a fantastic finish in New York. Despite racing against the Army and Duke University A squads, the Ravens took home a time that is now currently the fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference with a 7:47.08. The time is also the best time in that event across New England in all three NCAA Divisions.

In Boston, the Ravens also did not disappoint. Junior Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Mass.) ran his season best time in the 200 meters with a time of 22.33 seconds. The time also puts him as the eighth fastest in the Northeast-10 Conference.

Fellow junior Vinny Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) also bumped himself up in Northeast-10 Conference standing, running a 1:06.40 making his time the sixth fastest in the conference.

Lastly, junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) took home his season-best time in the 5000 meters, running a 15:04.38. That time puts him as the fifth fastest in the Northeast-10 Conference.

On a side note, sophomore Holly Lindoe (Holbrook, N.Y.) competed for the women's track & field team on Saturday as well at the Millrose Games in New York, and was able to come home with a seventh place finish in the Mile Walk with a time of 7:38.04.

The Ravens return to action this Saturday, February 21 for the Northeast-10 Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, Mass.
