Men’s Track and Field put up solid times in John Thomas Terrier Classic

BOSTON, Mass. (January 31, 2015) – The duo of senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) and Dage Minors (Hamilton Parrish, Bermuda) each put up season-best times on Saturday afternoon as the Franklin Pierce University Men's Track and Field team competed in the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University.

Gisore set season-best times in both the Men's Mile and the Men's 3000 meters. His time of 4:12.31 in the mile now ranks as the fastest time in the Northeast-10 Conference, while his time of 8:32.13 in the 3000 meters now ranks third among results in the conference. Both times were already qualified for the NEICAAA Championships.

Minors did much of the same, as he set a new personal best times in the Men's 400 meter dash and Men's 1000 meter dash. He was able to shave an astounding four seconds off his previous time in the 1000 meters by running a time of 2:24.37, and still currently holds the top time in the event in the conference. In the 400 meters, Minors now continues to sit with the second best time of 49.22 in the conference. Both of those times are also still qualified for the NEICAAA Championships.

Also setting a season-best times were juniors Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Mass.) and Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.). Dionne put up a new season-best in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.50 seconds. That time now ranks seventh in the Northeast-10 Conference, and now currently meets the NEICAAA Qualifying standards. Ham put down a new season-best time of 8:32.75 in the 3000 meters, and currently ranks fourth in the conference.

Other notable finishes on the day came from junior Vincent Biunno (Montgomery, N.Y.) and sophomore Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.). Biunno put up a respectable time in the Men's 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 seconds, while Holmes also put up a nice time of 1:56.63 in the 800 meter dash.

The Ravens return to action next Saturday, February 7 as they return to Boston and Boston University to compete in the Scarlet & White Invitational.
