Ercolini highlights Men’s Track and Field in NYC Gotham Cup

NEW YORK, N.Y. (January 17, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University Men's Track and Field team saw a little bit of the old and the new in the program this season highlight themselves at the NYC Gotham Cup held in the Big Apple on Friday. Freshman Josh Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.) ran a season-best in the 500m with a time of 1:08.26, while sophomores Matt Carpenter (Gloucester, Mass.) and Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) each put up tall numbers on their seasons.

Ercolini's time in the 500 was the top Franklin Pierce time as well as sixth in the Northeast-10, as Carpenter also ran his own season-best in the same event with a time of 1:09.27m, which came in right behind Ercolini as the seventh best in the conference. Minors was able to continue his dominance with a solid time in the 1000 meters with a time of 2:28.08. Minors' time also put him up to qualifying standards for the NEICAAA Championships.

Other notable finishes for the Ravens came from senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) who ran his season-best time in a 3000 meters, which came in as the third best time in the Northeast-10. Junior Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) also came in with the sixth best time in the Northeast-10 in the 5000 meters.

The Ravens return to the track on January 24th for the Art Farnham Invitational hosted by MIT.
