Sophomore collects first All-America outdoor accolade in program history

ALLENDALE, Mich. (May 23, 2015) – Sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team earned All-America honors for the second time this year on Saturday afternoon, as he placed eighth in the 800-meter final at the NCAA Championships, held at Grand Valley State University Track & Field Stadium. It is the first All-America honor earned by the outdoor track & field portion of the Ravens' program.

Minors was a step slower in Saturday's final than Friday's preliminary, as he turned in a 1:51.20 to finish eighth, with the top eight finishers earning All-America accolades. Minors will add the award to his All-America run in the 800 meters at the indoor NCAA Championships this year, as he placed sixth at the event in March.

Minors beat out Texas A&M-Kingsville junior Michal Idzik (1:51.32) by 0.12 seconds to nab the final All-America spot. Ashland senior Drew Windle, who held the nation's fastest time coming into the NCAA Championships, ran a 1:48.89 to claim the national title by four-tenths of a second over California State, Stanislaus sophomore Abraham Alvarado (1:49.29).
