Men’s Track & Field Wraps Up Penn Relays with Season Best in 4x800 Relay

Full squad in action Sunday at Regis

Carpenter PHILADELPHIA (April 25, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team wrapped up its third annual appearance at the prestigious Penn Relays on Saturday afternoon by running a season-best time in the 4x800-meter relay at Franklin Field, on the campus of University of Pennsylvania.

Franklin Pierce fielded a lineup of sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda), sophomore Jon Holmes (Albany, N.Y.), sophomore Matt Carpenter (Gloucester, Mass.) and senior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) in the 4x800 on Saturday. The quartet ran a time of 7:43.49 to finish 15th out of 23 teams, and the time ranks third in the Northeast-10 Conference on the year.

The 4x800 was won by another Granite State team, as the University of New Hampshire turned in a 7:33.74 to finish first. The Wildcats led the way in Franklin Pierce's 13-team heat; the Ravens finished sixth in the heat.

The Ravens return their full squad to action on Sunday, April 26, at the Pride Classic, hosted by Regis College in Weston, Mass.
