Men’s Track & Field Posts Season Bests in 4x100, 4x400 at Penn Relays

Ravens wrap up meet on Saturday

Jacques PHILADELPHIA (April 24, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University men's track & field team ran its fastest times of the season in both the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relay on Friday at the prestigious Penn Relays, hosted by University of Pennsylvania at historic Franklin Field.

In the 4x100, the Ravens fielded a quartet of senior Kevin Sadoski (Glastonbury, Conn.), sophomore Daniel Warner (Windham, N.H.), freshman Nicholas Jacques (Westfield, Mass.) and junior Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Mass.). The squad posted a time of 43.37 seconds, which ranks fifth in the Northeast-10 Conference. Franklin Pierce finished 50th, out of 78 teams, in the event. The fastest heat time of the day belonged to University of Technology (Jamaica) at 39.74, while the fastest NCAA time was run by South Carolina at 40.16. The Ravens finished third in their eight-team heat, which was won by Bowie State (43.15).

Meanwhile, in the 4x400, Franklin Pierce fielded a lineup of sophomore Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.), freshman Joshua Ercolini (Woburn, Mass.), Jacques and sophomore Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda). The foursome stopped the clock at 3:23.98, which ranks sixth in the Northeast-10 on the year, and was good for 43rd, out of 67 teams. Louisiana State ran the fastest heat time of the day, with a 3:08.81. The Ravens finished second in their eight-team heat, which was won by SUNY Delhi (3:22.76).

The Ravens are scheduled to compete in the 4x800-meter relay on Saturday to close out their third appearance at the Penn Relays.
