PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (April 26, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team's 4x400-meter relay squad ran its fastest time of 2013-14 on Friday to highlight the program's participation in the prestigious Penn Relays, the oldest and largest track and field meet in the country. In addition, sophomore Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) ran his fastest time of the season in the 3000-meter steeplechase on Thursday.

Ham was the only individual to run at the Penn Relays for the Ravens. His season-best mark of 9:39.29 was good for 11th, out of 15 runners, in the "Olympic Development" section of the steeplechase. The time currently ranks second in the Northeast-10 Conference. The Penn Relays' "Olympic Development" heats are generally designed to showcase post-collegiate athletes, though college student-athletes are used to fill out the fields in various events.

Franklin Pierce's 4x400-meter lineup on Friday consisted of sophomore Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Mass.), freshman Matt Carpenter (Gloucester, Mass.), junior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) and freshman Dage Minors (Hamilton Parish, Bermuda). The quartet posted a time of 3:23.68, which was good for 67th of 89 teams in the field and currently ranks sixth in the Northeast-10.

The Ravens had two other relay teams take to the track on Friday at the Penn Relays. The 4x100-meter team of sophomore Connor Rogowsky (Nashua, N.H.), freshman Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.), freshman Dave LaGuerra (Mastic, N.Y.) and Dionne posted a time of 44.35 seconds to finish 81st, out of 92 teams. Meanwhile, the distance medley relay squad of freshman B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.), Carpenter, Minors and Gisore ran a 10:12.74 to finish 20th, out of 25 teams.

Franklin Pierce's full team returns to the track on Sunday, April 27, for the Pride Classic Invitational, hosted by Regis College in Weston, Mass.
