Gisore Gisore picked up a win in the 1500 meters on Saturday at MIT.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (April 21, 2014) – Junior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) won the 1500 meters and freshman B.J. Smith (Concord, N.H.) won the 5000 meters on Saturday afternoon, to lead the way for the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team at the Sean Collier Invitational, hosted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Due to technical issues at MIT, full results for the meet were unavailable until Monday morning.

Gisore checked in with a time of 3:56.99 to finish first in the 1500 meters, while the time was approximately four seconds off his fastest mark of the indoor season in the event. In addition, the time is just under four seconds off the NCAA Championship provisional qualifying standard. Meanwhile, Smith ran a 15:03.90 to notch his victory in the 5000, with a time which is good for 10th in the Northeast-10 Conference on the season.

Elsewhere on the track on Saturday, sophomore Colton Ham (Webster, N.H.) took third in the 3000-meter steeplechase, with a time of 9:43.82, which currently ranks third in the Northeast-10. In the 100-meter dash, sophomore Ryan Dionne (Amesbury, Mass.) finished fourth in 22.57 seconds, which was his fastest time of the season and ranks 11th in the Conference. Dionne also anchored Franklin Pierce's 4x100-meter relay team at MIT, where he was joined by sophomore Connor Rogowsky (Nashua, N.H.), freshman Cory Cataldo (Tewksbury, Mass.) and freshman Dave LaGuerra (Mastic, N.Y.). The quartet finished second, with a time of 43.95 seconds.

Sophomore Chris Bohi (Loudon, N.H.), who was already fourth in the Northeast-10 in the javelin, added a top-five finish in the event, as he finished third with a throw of 54.18 meters. Elsewhere in field events, sophomore Sharaj Prince (Roseau, Dominica) finished sixth in the discus with a throw of 39.53 meters, which currently ranks 11th in the Northeast-10.
