Ravens have also qualified for five events Saturday

Steed Steed placed 19th in the triple jump on Saturday at the New England Championships.

BOSTON, Mass. (March 1, 2014) – Freshman Cody Steed (Chichester, N.H.) was the lone individual in action on Saturday for the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team on the second day of the NEICAAA Championships -- also known as the New England Championships -- held at Boston University Track & Tennis Center. Also competing on Saturday for the Ravens was the 4x800-meter relay squad.

Steed was competing in the triple jump, where he posted a mark of 12.71 meters to finish 19th. Meanwhile, the 4x800 quartet of sophomore Makopa Rugabirwa (Concord, N.H.), freshman Dylan Crowley (Woburn, Mass.), sophomore Isaac Fithian (Kingston, N.H.) and sophomore Chris Birotte (Lynn, Mass.) ran the team's best time on the season in the event, as they posted a 7:55.09 to place 16th.

The Ravens are scheduled to send their distance medley relay team to Sunday's George Mason Last Chance meet in Fairfax, Va., in one last attempt to better their time and qualify for the NCAA Championships.
