Ravens return full team to action next week at GBTC Invitational

Gisore Gisore ran the Northeast-10's second-best time in the 3,000 meters on Sunday at Dartmouth.

HANOVER, N.H. (January 12, 2014) – Junior Antoine Gisore (Concord, N.H.) of the Franklin Pierce University men's track and field team posted the Northeast-10 Conference's second-best time thus far in the 3,000 meters on Sunday afternoon in the Dartmouth Relays at Leverone Field House.

The Ravens sent only a partial squad to Dartmouth on Sunday, in the team's first outing since the semester break.

It was Gisore's first run in the 3,000 meters of the season, and he was able to place fourth with a time of 8:36.83. The time is less than three seconds off the NCAA Championship provisional qualifying standard in the event. In addition, Gisore is just 2.76 seconds behind Adelphi junior Nicholas Filippazzo for the Northeast-10's top time in the 3,000.

Also of note for the Ravens on Sunday, freshman Cody Steed (Chichester, N.H.) posted his top mark of the season in the triple jump, as he finished sixth at 13.06 meters. The mark is good for 10th in the Northeast-10, the same position Steed held going into the meet.

The Ravens return their full squad to the track on Sunday, Jan. 19, when they travel to the GBTC Invitational in Boston, Mass.
