Men’s Tennis’ Chong Named NE10 Rookie of the Week

RINDGE, N.H. (October 17, 2017) – Freshman Roberto Chong (Puigpunyent, Spain) of the Franklin Pierce University men’s tennis team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week, for the week ending on Oct. 15, as announced on Tuesday by the Conference office.

Chong finished a combined 4-0 on the week, with two wins at second singles and two wins at second doubles, as the Ravens closed out the fall portion of their schedule with wins over Regis (Mass.) and Emerson.

At second singles, Chong posted a 6-0, 6-1 win over Luke Horton of Regis, as well as a 6-2, 6-2 win over Antonio Ramirez of Emerson. At second doubles, Chong teamed with sophomore Yuval Barak for an 8-2 win against Regis and an 8-1 win against Emerson.

Over the course of four matches in the fall season, Chong went 3-1 in singles play and 3-1 in doubles play.

The Ravens will return to the court in the spring.
