Men’s Tennis Falls to Le Moyne, 7-2

RINDGE, N.H. (March 25, 2018) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was defeated at home on Sunday, 7-2, by visiting Le Moyne in Northeast-10 Conference play.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 6-7 (3-1 NE10), while Le Moyne improves to 7-4 (4-2 NE10).

Le Moyne opened the day with a 3-0 lead, after winning all three doubles matches. The most competitive of the three came at first doubles. Freshman Roberto Chong (Puigpunyent, Spain) and junior Andrew Schadt (Tolland, Conn.) held their own, but ultimately dropped an 8-6 decision to Le Moyne sophomore Philip Blythe and senior Hallam Doney.

Franklin Pierce's two points came at first and second singles. At first singles, Chong dispatched Blythe, 6-4, 6-2. Meanwhile, at second singles, junior James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.) went the distance with Le Moyne junior Andres Hernandez. Bisazza ultimately came up with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 victory.

Third singles was hyper-competitive as well, with three sets needed to decide a winner between sophomore Yuval Barak (Zicron Ya'akov, Israel) and junior Xavier Graells. This three-set contest went Le Moyne's way, as Graells notched a 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win.

Le Moyne also took victories at fourth, fifth and sixth singles to finish off the 7-2 triumph in the match.

The Ravens return to the court on Friday, March 30, when they remain home to host Daemen at 6 p.m.
