Men’s Tennis Blanked at Le Moyne, 9-0

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (April 14, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was shutout, 9-0, on the road on Friday afternoon in Northeast-10 Conference play at Le Moyne.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 3-13 (2-6 NE10), while Le Moyne improves to 9-9 (4-4 NE10).

Le Moyne opened the day by taking all three doubles points. The most hotly-contested of the three matches came at second doubles. Freshman Yuval Barak (Zicron Ya'akov, Israel) and sophomore Marcus Lawrence (Acton, Mass.) forced a tiebreak, but ultimately suffered a 9-8 (3) defeat to Le Moyne freshman Josh Sagaille and junior Jason Barton.

Later, the Dolphins dropped just 15 games while taking straight-set wins in each of the six singles matches. In all, five Le Moyne players picked up wins in both singles and doubles play. Freshman Philip Blythe led the way, with decisive victories at both first singles and first doubles.

The Ravens return to the court on Saturday, April 15, when they close out the season with an NE10 contest at Saint Michael's at 1 p.m. in Colchester, Vt.
