Men’s Tennis Falls at Eastern Florida State, 8-1, to Cap Florida Swing

MELBOURNE, Fla. (March 16, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was defeated on Thursday afternoon, 8-1, on the road in non-conference play at Eastern Florida State, to cap a three-match Florida swing.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce falls to 1-7, while Eastern Florida State improves to 11-8.

Franklin Pierce's only point of the day on Thursday came at first doubles. Sophomores James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.) and Andrew Schadt (Tolland, Conn.) pulled out a 9-7 win over ESFC freshmen Eduardo Garcia and Pablo Munoz.

Eastern Florida State picked up identical, 8-2 wins in the remaining two doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Singles play was one-sided, in favor of the Titans. ESFC dropped just three games while winning all six singles matches to come away with the 8-1 win.

The Ravens return to the court on Thursday, March 23, when they travel to Stonehill for a Northeast-10 Conference contest at 3:30 p.m. in Easton, Mass.
