Ravens conclude fall portion of schedule

RINDGE, N.H. (October 16, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce University men's tennis team was defeated on Friday afternoon, 9-0, at home by Bentley in Northeast-10 Conference play.

With the loss, Franklin Pierce concludes the fall portion of its season at 0-6 (0-3 Northeast-10), while Bentley improves to 5-0 (2-0 Northeast-10).

Franklin Pierce came closest to snagging a point at first doubles, where freshmen James Bisazza (West Barnstable, Mass.) and Marcus Lawrence (Acton, Mass.) locked horns with Bentley sophomores Brendan McCarthy and George Samander. The Franklin Pierce duo took it the distance, but ultimately the Bentley pair scored the 9-7 victory. Bisazza put up the strongest fight for the Ravens in singles play, though he dropped a 6-3, 6-2 decision to freshman Dylan Granat at first singles.

In all, both Bentley players who played in both singles and doubles play won at both. Samander added a 6-2, 6-2 win over Lawrence at second singles after the aforementioned doubles match. Meanwhile, junior Chase Rosa teamed with senior Sam Frye for an 8-5 win at second doubles, before rolling to a 6-0, 6-1 win at fourth singles.
