Men's Soccer Ranked Third in the Nation

United Soccer Coaches Top-25 NCAA DII Men Poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (September 7, 2021) – The Franklin Pierce University men's soccer program team is ranked No. 3 in the latest United Soccer Coaches National Poll. The Ravens moved up two spots after being ranked No. 5 in the preseason poll last month.

Franklin Pierce recorded two shutouts last weekend, defeating Nyack, 4-0, last Thursday night and Queens (N.Y.), 3-0, last Saturday. Six Ravens notched goals in both victories, including three from freshman Braudilio Rodrigues (Lisbon, Portugal). Graduate students Pedro Juan Vicente (Elche, Spain), Javier Nemesio García (Alacuas, Spain) and Antonio Santos Ferreira (Madrid, Spain), senior Marco Valero (Alicante, Spain) and freshman Vicente Valor Martinez (San Juan, Spain) all netted one goal each on the weekend. Goalkeeper Kosta Maniatis (Montreal, Quebec) stopped a shot against Nyack, as the Crimson and Grey outshot their opponents 28-5.

FPU (2-0-0) will take on Felician (0-1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Lyndhurst Recreation Complex in Lyndhurst, N.J. at 3:30 p.m.
