MANCHESTER, N.H. (October 30, 2018) The no. 6 seeded Franklin Pierce University men's soccer season came to an end Tuesday evening as the no. 3 Southern New Hampshire University Penmen shutout the Ravens 3-0 at Penmen Stadium during the Northeast-10 Conference Quarterfinals.

The win sends SNHU to the NE10 Semifinals on Friday against Adelphi University. The Ravens year ends at 7-10-1 with the setback. Southern New Hampshire snaps a six-match NE10 Championship losing streak against the Ravens as they won their only third game (3-5-2) versus FPU.

SNHU broke into the scoring column three minutes into the game when Jonathan Cruickshank dribbled the ball from a distance away into the left side of the box. Cruickshank deposited a shot attempt inside the near post to move the hosts ahead 1-0 early.

Tom Marriott tacked on an insurance score when Nadjib Chibout stroked a shot that was deflected and found the foot of Marriott. Marriott roped a point-blank shot which clanked off the right post and into the cage to expand the SNHU lead.

Franklin Pierce's first shot came in the 26th minute as Noam Kolakofsky (Achziv, Israel) was stifled by Penmen netminder Daniel Milton. Pierce could only muster four shots in the first half and 11 for the game as they were outshot 18-to-11 in the contest.

Marriott assisted on Olafur Einarsson's second goal of the year in the 67th minute to cap off the Penmen scoring.

Raven goalkeeper Jadel Poon-Lewis (Diego Martin, Trinidad and Tobago) made a season-best 11 saves in the loss as he fell to 7-10-1. Milton stopped five shots in the shutout, his 13th win of the year.
