RINDGE, N.H.  (April 3, 2018) – The no. 1 nationally-ranked Le Moyne College men's lacrosse team strolled into Rindge and left Sodexo Field with an 18-6 Northeast-10 Conference win against Franklin Pierce University Tuesday afternoon in a contest played during a light snow. The Dolphins remain unblemished at 9-0, 5-0 NE10 while the Ravens drop to 4-3 overall and 2-3 NE10.

Le Moyne was led by a five-point performance from senior midfielder Greg White who tallied four goals and one helper. Teammate Ross Filtch chipped in four goals apiece as well. Starting netminder, junior Kyle Lumpe played one-half in the cage and allowed only three scores while improving to 3-0 on the campaign.

Raven team captains Benjamin Lassow (Mansfield, Conn.) and Jack Carney (Dunbarton, N.H.) tallied two goals each. Carney's markers were his 98th and 99th career point. He remains one point away from becoming only the sixth member of the programs 100-point club.

In the early going, the Ravens played keep away from the Dolphins by holding the ball in their attacking zone and were extremely selective with their shot attempts. 30 seconds into the duel, Raven senior defender John Massaro (Newington, Conn.) knocked the ball out of Matt Hutchings; stick scooped up the groundball, ran straight down the left side and fired a shot attempt that was just off the mark.

Following a successful Raven clear, Benjamin Lassow settled for three shot attempts in a span of a minute and 15 seconds, each were wide of the net as the contest remained at a deadlock. Le Moyne cleared their defensive zone and Justin Kesselring was stifled on the right wing with an impressive save by Raven goalie Justin Lorenzo (Goshen, N.Y.).

Pierce's Brad Chapdelaine (Goffstown, N.H.) picked up the loose ball and drove back down towards the Le Moyne defensive area. FPU set up a play, which saw freshman midfielder Josh Dorr (Brunswick, Maine), use a screen and rifle home an attempt to move the Ravens ahead 1-0 early.

Two minutes passed until Le Monye knotted the game off Filtch's spinning maneuver for his sixth goal of the campaign. After the tying score, the Dolphins gained their first advantage as Devin Andrews followed a missed shot, shagged the groundball and sniped the second chance attempt to increase the score to 2-1.

In the second quarter, the Ravens came within one, 3-2 when Carney came around the back of the cage and pushed in a shot from the left side. Le Moyne manufactured four straight goals to lead 7-2 until Benjamin Lassow netted a runner to cut the Raven deficit to 7-3. The Dolphins kept their foot on the gas pumping in the next four goals to lead 12-3 five minutes into the third period.

The Ravens remain home in Rindge on Saturday when they welcome NE10 foe Assumption to Sodexo Field for an 11:00 a.m. showdown.
