Delea Honored With NEILA Preseason Selection

RINDGE, N.H. (February 10, 2017) – Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse junior midfielder Sean Delea (Hampstead, N.H.) has been selected to the 2017 New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division II All-New England Preseason Team it was announced Thursday.

Players were nominated by their own head coaches and the teams were voted on by head coaches in their respective divisions. There is a First Team and a Second Team for Division I, a First Team for Division II, and a First, Second and Honorable Mention Team for Division III.

Delea was one of four midfielders selected to the preseason squad and was the only Raven to be honored. At the conclusion of his freshman and sophomore campaigns, Delea was named to the NEILA All-New England Second Team.

He started and played in 13 games for the Ravens last season while amassing a personal single season best 25 goals, 11 assists and 36 points. Delea ranked first on the squad in goals, second in total points and third in assists. His best contest of the 2016 season came against Northeast-10 Conference opponent Southern New Hampshire University on April 16th when he racked up five goals, an assist and six points. The five markers was his highest goal output of the season.

In program annals, Delea holds the sixth best single season point total (36, 2016), the ninth most goals scored (25, 2016) and the 12th most assists (11, 2016). In the career rankings, the junior is 14th in total goals scored (42).
