Noonan Scores 100th Goal in Men's Lacrosse Senior Day Loss 14-6 to Adelphi

RINDGE, N.H. (April 25, 2015) – Senior attack Eddie Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.) is the first in program history to reach 100 goals, scoring three goals to end the regular season with 101 goals in Saturday's contest. The Franklin Pierce University Men's Lacrosse team hosted Adelphi in their final regular season game, where they also honored their nine seniors. Holding Adelphi scoreless in the third quarter, the team took a 14-5 loss with senior goal keeper Don Denman (Exeter, N.H.) making 21 saves. 

The nine seniors include Hilbert Stearns (Little Compton, R.I.), Will Schorle (Marshfield, Mass.), Erik Kelly (Tewksbury, Mass.), Dylan Leone (Tewksbury, Mass.), Cody MacLellan (Keene, N.H.), Don Denman, Kevin Dargin (Littleton, Mass.), and Eddie Noonan.  

With the loss, the team falls 11-3 (8-3 NE-10), settling the Ravens in for fourth place in the NE-10. With the ranking,  for the first time in program history, the team has made it to the post season and will host on Tuesday afternoon at Sodexo Field. Adelphi improves to 12-2 (9-3 NE-10).

Down two goals, Noonan scored his first goal to reach 99 goals and bring the team within one. Adelphi turned up the heat and posted five more goals before Noonan could score his 100th goal in the final minute of the first quarter.

Noonan scored the lone goal for the Ravens in the second quarter, while Adelphi scored five more goals to push the score to 10-2 to round out the first half.

Junior attack Casey Burnett (Windham, N.H.) scored the lone goal in the third quarter, while Adelphi remained scoreless, 12-4.

Adelphi scored two more goals in the final quarter, while junior Brendan Caldeira (Sandwich, Mass.) scored the final goal of the game to finish the contest out at 14-5.

Senior Nick Susko scored four goals, while senior Jamie McAndrew scored three goals and assisted in another. Senior Connor Duddy scored two goals, assisted in one other and collected two ground balls. Junior Joe Giardina collected six ground balls and caused four turnovers, while junior John English collected six ground balls. Senior DJ Mauro took the win (5-0) making 7 saves in his 52:47 of play, while senior John McGrath made five saves in his 4:43 of play.

Eddie Noonan had three goals, while Casey Burnett and Brendan Caldeira each added in a goal. Freshman Louis Palumbo (Commack, N.Y.) and Will Schorle each collected four ground balls. Junior Dylan Leone (Tewksbury, Mass.) caused three turnovers. Don Denman made 21 saves in his 55:54 of play, while freshman Connor Wacksman (Guilderland, N.Y.) made four saves in his 3:05 of play.

The Ravens return to Sodexo Field on Tuesday, April 28th, for the quarterfinal of the NE-10 Championship. Game time is  4:00 p.m. This is the first ever post season game in Franklin Pierce men's lacrosse program history. Ticket Information will be available Monday, April 27th
