Burnett Scores Lone Goal in 15-1 Loss to Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (March 17, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team fell to Le Moyne College on Tuesday afternoon, 15-1,  at Ted Grant Field.

With their first loss of the season, the Ravens fall 4-1 with a 1-1 Northeast-10 Conference record, Le Moyne jumps 2-0 in NE-10 play, with a 4-1 overall record.

Le Moyne scored six goals in the first quarter and never looked back. By the end of the second quarter, the Dolphins were up 10-0.

The Ravens scored their lone goal in the third quarter courtesy of junior Casey Burnett (Windham, N.H.) at 6:18.  

Le Moyne continued their push, ending the game 15-1.

Senior Joe Corapi led the offense with three goals for the Dolphins while also leading the defense with seven ground balls. Sophomore Alex O'Brien had two goals and assisted in two others, and senior Chris Breiner had two goals, junior Nick Kline had a pair of goals while picking up two ground balls. Defensively, senior Gerald O'Brien grabbed four ground balls and caused two turnovers and senior Kyle Moyer caused three turnovers and caused a ground ball.

Junior Malcom Sutton (Hooksett, N.H.) led the defense picking up four ground balls and causing one turnover.  Senior Will Schorle (Marshfield, Mass.) grabbed three ground balls and caused a turnover, while freshman Louis Palumbo (Commack, N.Y.) grabbed three ground balls. Junior Brendan Caldeira (Sandwich, Mass.), senior Erik Kelly (Tewksbury, Mass.), senior Eddie Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.) and senior Don Denman (Exeter, N.H.) all picked up a pair of ground balls.

Denman also made 11 saves against 26 shots for his 60:00 between the pipes to take the loss (4-1). Senior  Alex Krawec  (4-1) grabbed the win while stopping all three goals against him in his 30:00 of play, while senior Ben Romagnoli stopped six out of seven shots in his 30:00 of play.

The Ravens travel to Assumption on Saturday to take on the Greyhounds at 12:00 p.m. in Northeast-10 Conference play.
