RINDGE, N.H. (March 1, 2015) –  It was a record Saturday afternoon on Sodexo Field for senior attack Eddie Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.) as he broke the school record for career goals and ties the school record for goals in a single game.  The Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team blew out Notre Dame de Namur University 19-6 in a non-conference contest.

The Ravens are 2-0 overall, while Notre Dame de Namur falls to 0-1 overall.

Noonan's final goal of the game, and his 77^th overall, at 11:58 in the fourth quarter breaks the record for career goals that was previously held by Luke Ferreira since 2008. Noonan also tied the school record for goals in a single game, eight goals, originally set last season by teammate senior Kevin Dargin (Littleton, Mass.).

By the end of the first quarter, Franklin Pierce had four goals to the Argonauts lone goal. Senior Erik Kelly (Tewksbury, Mass.) started the team off at 13:57 with the first goal unassisted, followed by junior Casey Burnett (Windham, N.H.) also unassisted at 12:23. 10:26 marked the lone goal in the first quarter for the Argonauts unassisted by freshman Erik Lind.

Noonan began his race to break the career goals record at 5:24 unassisted followed by his second of the game with just under a minute to play assisted by junior Robert Meyers (Pompton Lakes, N.J.).

By the start of the third quarter, the Ravens were up 8-2, when Wameling started the second half off for Notre Dame de Numur at 13:27 with an unassisted goal. Burnette answered back with a goal assisted by Noonan. Burnette then assisted junior Dylan Leone's (Tewksbury, Mass.) goal at 11:03. Freshman Sean Delea (Hampstead, N.H.) scored a man up goal from Carney, followed by Noonan's fifth goal also assisted by Carney.  Freshman Ben Lassow (Mansfield, Conn.) had an unassisted goal at 6:33 followed by Burnett's unassisted goal at 6:13. Noonan's sixth goal came at 5:39 from Calderia. With the quarter ending with a goal by Lassow unassisted at 47 seconds left.

Kelly started the final quarter at 14:42 from sophomore Anthony D'Aprile (Smithtown, N.Y.). Noonan tied the career goals record at 14 minutes with his seventh goal, followed by his record breaker goal at 11:58 from Delea. The Argonauts ended the game with three goals from sophomore Kyle Geib, sophomore Curtis Yokoyama, and sophomore Andrew Arabejo in the final six minutes.

In all, Franklin Pierce had four players tally three or more points on the day, Noonan had eight goals and one assist, Burnett grabbed four goals and one assist, while Carney assisted with three goals  and grabbed five ground balls.  Kelly added three goals and one assist, and Leone grabbed one goal and picked up six ground balls.

For the Argonauts, Wameling grabbed two goals for the team while collecting seven ground balls, while Lind talled a goal and an assist.  Yokoyama tallied a goal and two ground balls, freshman Scott Nelson with an assist, sophomore Deven LaPorte with an assist and Arabejo with a goal. Geib had a goal, grabbed a ground ball, while causing four turnovers, and freshamn Adrian Hollified also grabbed four ground balls.

 Senior goalkeeper Don Denman (Exeter, N.H.) finished with seven saves against 10 shots with 45:00 minutes in goal to pick up the win (2-0) for Franklin Pierce. Freshman Connor Wacksman (Guilderland, N.Y.) recorded one save against three goals. Freshman Alec Killian logged 30:00 in net for Notre Dame de Namur, made six saves against 14 shots and suffered the loss (0-1), while freshamn Chris Martin grabbed 30:00 minutes with 1 save against 12 shots.

The Ravens return to the field on Saturday, March 11, when they travel to Post for a non-conference contest. Opening faceoff is set for 3:00 pm. at LaMoy Field.
