RINDGE, N.H. (March 8, 2014) – Junior attackman Kevin Dargin (Littleton, Mass.) etched his name in the record book Saturday afternoon as he dumped in a single-game program-record eight goals to spark the Franklin Pierce University men's lacrosse team to a 17-5 win over Dominican (N.Y.) at Sodexo Field in Rindge.

The Ravens evened their record at 1-1, while the Chargers (0-1) were making their 2014 debut on Saturday.

Dargin's eight tallies were one better than the mark of seven set twice by Jimmy Ward during the 2004 season. He also assisted on a tally to give him nine points for the day, which tied a single-game program-record as well.

Dargin scored twice in both the first and second quarters, and then exploded for four markers in the third quarter, including a string of three straight over a four-minute span.

His second marker of the first quarter came at the 6:14 mark, and broke a 2-2 tie after the Chargers had surged back with a pair of strikes in 90 seconds to knot the score. The tally ignited the Ravens, who blew the game open from there by scoring 14 of the next 15 goals bridging all four quarters. 

Dargin's first three goals were at even strength, but his fourth was a man-up tally with just :21 left in the first half. He scored two more man-up goals in the third quarter, accounting for all three extra-man tallies the Ravens had on the afternoon.

Not to be outdone, sophomore attackman Casey Burnett (Windham, N.H.) also had a fine afternoon with three goals and two assists for five points. He had one of the prettiest goals on the day, as early in the second quarter he fired a missile to the upper right corner of the net with barely more than the size of shoebox to shoot into.

Adding to the offensive fireworks as well was junior attacker Eddie Noonan (Foxboro, Mass.), who went for four points on a pair of goals and two assists. He added a tally to the highlight reel as well with a nifty behind the back shot late in the third quarter.

Franklin Pierce rang up a 57-34 advantage in shots, including owning a 50-19 advantage at one point in the second half.

The other Ravens to score on the afternoon included Bryan Bourque (Goffstown, N.H.), Brenden Caldeira (Sandwich, Mass.), Baxter Sukdolak (Lockport, N.Y.), and Alex Connolly (West Newbury, Mass.).

While the Ravens were pouring it on offensively up front, the back end, did a solid job as well, forcing Dominican into 23 turnovers, while scooping up 48 groundballs. Junior goalie Don Denman (Exeter, N.H.) stopped 10 shots to improve to 1-1, while also recording his 10^th-consecutive game with double-digit saves dating back to last season.

Thirteen different Ravens collected multiple groundballs, including Burnett leading the way with eight. Senior defender Cody Kelley (Manchester, N.H.) picked up three grounders, while also causing a team-best three turnovers.

Theodore Wright paced Dominican's offensive attack with a pair of goals.

Franklin Pierce returns to action Wednesday when the Ravens play host to Post University at 4 p.m. on Sodexo Field in Rindge.
