Brendan Cahill Named Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week
Cahill leads the team with 16 points and leads the Northeast-10 in assists per game at 2.67
RINDGE, N.H. (March 22, 2010) -- Franklin Pierce
University men's lacrosse attack Brendan Cahill (Hollis,
N.H.) was named the Northeast-10 Freshman of the Week on
Monday for his efforts in helping to lead the Ravens to an 8-6 win
at Mercy last Thursday.
Cahill scored a pair of goals and assisted on three others to
register a five-point afternoon for the Ravens.His first goal of
the contest came at the 1:07 mark of the second period, and proved
to be the eventual game-winner for Franklin Pierce as the team
improved to 3-0 on the season. Cahill notched his second goal
midway through the third period to round out the scoring for the
Ravens. He assisted on both of Nate Woods' goals and Jimmy McInnis'
second-period tally.
It marked the third time in as many games this season Cahill had at
least four points in a contest. He has a team-high 16 points (8 g,
8 a) in the opening three games. Cahill also ranks among the league
leaders in several offensive categories, including first in assists
per game (2.67), second in points per game (5.33) and seventh in
goals per game (2.67).
Franklin Pierce returns to action Wednesday afternoon when it opens
its 2010 Northeast-10 Conference schedule by playing host to
American International at 4 p.m. in Sodexo Field.
