Bio

Taylor Schmidt enters her third season as an assistant coach for the men's and women's golf teams here at Franklin Pierce University in 2020-21. Schmidt remains in Rindge after a four-year career, two as a team captain (bio) on the women's' golf program that culminated in a trip to the 2018 NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional, a Northeast-10 Conference Second Team choice and one selection as the NE10 Women's Golfer of the Week.

During her senior campaign, Schmidt was a runner-up twice at the FPU Fall Invitational where she shot a 153 (+9) and the Assumption College Invitational in the spring which she turned in a 77 (+5) scorecard. In the Fall at the Ravens home tournament, she shot one of the lowest rounds of her career at 75 (+3). At the NCAA Division II Tournament East Super Regional, Schmidt totaled a 244 (+28) en route to a 47th place finish with her low score 79 (+7) coming during the first round. 

Before arriving in Rindge, Schmidt played for the varsity golf team at Westfield where she was a team captain during her final season. She qualified for the Western Massachusetts Championship all four years and qualified for the State and New England Championship her senior campaign. A two-sport athlete, Schmidt also competed for the track and field program. 

A native of West Springfield, Mass., Taylor graduated from Franklin Pierce as a health science major and an anthropology minor in May 2018.
