Myers Brings Home First in Three Team Tournament

CANDIA, N.H. (March 25, 2021) – The Franklin Pierce University Men's Golf competed in their second tournament this week and placed second out of three team at the Granite State Spring Invite at the Candia Woods Golf Links. Graduate student Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) took home medalist honors firing a one-under-par 70 for first place.

As a team, the Ravens shot a 301 (+17) on the day trailing first-place Southern New Hampshire University (296, +12) by only five strokes. The host Saint Anselm College Hawks rounded out the scoring at 315 (+31).

Myers paced the field in birdies (4) and par four scoring (3.91, -1). Sophomore Michael Sosik (Fiskdale, Mass.) rounded out the Ravens top-five showing shooting a 75 (+4). Graduate student Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) placed ninth at 77 (+6), graduate student Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn.) hit a 79 (+8) and sophomore Jack Hogan (Westfield, Mass.) produced an 82 (+11) scorecard.

Freshman Thomas Hickey (Moultonborough, N.H.) made the trip as an individual and putted home a tie for third at 73 (+2). He was the tournament leader in pars (14) and in par 3 scoring (3.00, E).

The men's squad will be back in action on Tuesday, April 6th at the Sandwich Hollows Golf Club in East Sandwich, Mass. hosted by Bentley University.
