MUSCLE SHOALS, Ala. (May 22, 2018) – The no. 8 regionally-ranked Franklin Pierce University men's golf team jumped one spot to 19th place on the team leaderboard following the second round of the 2018 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship Monday at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at The Shoals.

The Ravens dropped 11 strokes from their Monday showing to complete the round Tuesday at 304 (+16). The Ravens moved ahead of Roberts Wesleyan College to 19th place. Through two rounds, the Crimson and Grey sit at 619 (+43). Barry University leapfrogged to first place with a 272 (-16) second round.

Senior Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) carried the Ravens from the five spot with a 72 (E) card and he knocked off 13 strokes from his Monday performance. Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.) and Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) also bumped shots from their Tuesday totals. Foster came into the clubhouse at 75 (+3) while Myers lost three strokes to finish at 78 (+6).

Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) produced a 79 (+7) for FPU. Teammate Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn.) got injured during a chip out of a bunker on 17 and had to stop for the day.

Following a team reseeding, Donohue and the Ravens will tee off from the 1st tee box tomorrow at 7:20 a.m.
