NEW LONDON, N.H. (October 3, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team concluded their run at the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Championship hosted by Southern New Hampshire University Tuesday as the Crimson and Grey placed sixth overall.

The Championship was held in New London, N.H. at the Lake Sunapee Country Club a par 70, 6,704 yard course. Franklin Pierce stood in a tie for third place with Assumption College through 18 holes on Monday with a team total of 298 (+18). However, the Ravens tacked on 12 extra strokes to their second day showing of 310 (+30) to finish the Championship at 608 (+48). Bentley University (592, +32) led wire to wire as they captured their sixth conference title narrowly defeating defending champion Le Moyne College by one stroke.

Sophomore Keeton Foster (Spofford, N.H.) led the FPU group by golfing a two round total of 150 (+10) as he finished tied for 13th place. Classmate Sam Myers (Colchester, Vt.) and teammate Dylan Plis (Camillus, N.Y.) rounded out the Ravens top-20 finishes by turning in 152 (+12) scorecards.

Plis led the Crimson and Grey and ranked fourth overall in par 5 scoring (4.25, -3) while he also was one of only four golfers to record an eagle over the two-day championship.

Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) shot a consistent 77 (+7) during both rounds to place 27th at 154, 14 over par. Finally, team captain Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) knocked two strokes off his day one total of 80 (+10) to a second 18 score of 78 (+8) as he finished tied for 41st place (158, +18).

Franklin Pierce heads back to the links this weekend when they travel to Saint Rose and the Pinehaven Country Club in Albany, N.Y. Friday and Saturday.
