Men's Golf Wraps Up DII Challenge In Sixth Place

QUECHEE, Vt. (September 20, 2016) – The Franklin Pierce men's golf team wrapped up their final day of competition at the Quechee Division II Challenge hosted by Southern New Hampshire University Tuesday.

After the first day of competition the Ravens stood in fourth place with a team score of 306 (+18). They followed that up with a 315 (+45) showing in the second day which combined for a 621 (+27) total score and a sixth place overall finish

Freshman Keeton Foster (Chesterfield, N.H.) lead all Raven golfers after he shot a 72 (E) during day one and shot a 76 (+4) during day two. Foster's 148 (+4) gave him his first top-10 finish of his collegiate career as he was tied for ninth place out of 78 golfers.

Junior Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.) was a consistent force for the Crimson and Grey as he shot a 77 (+5) during both days which added up to a 154 (+10) score and a tie for 28th place. Liam Donohue (Vernon, Conn.), Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) and Ben French (Newton, N.H.) all racked up scores in the 160s shooting, 160 (+16), 162 (+18) and 165 (+21) respectively. Donahue had the second best score on the team after the first day (75, +3)

Northeast-10 foe Bentley took home the team title with a combined score of 588 (+9) as host SNHU finished second (595, +16) and day one leader St. Thomas Aquinas slipped to third place overall after shooting a 309 on day two.

The Ravens return to action in two weeks on October 2nd for the Northeast-10 Championships at the Olde Kinderhook Golf Club in Valatie, N.Y.
