Men’s Golf chips in for sixth place finish at Northeast-10 Championship
ENDICOTT, N.Y. (October 5, 2015) – The Franklin Pierce Men's Golf team put in a solid performance on Monday afternoon, led by senior Travis Landry (Loudon, N.H.) who shot a team-leading 73 (+1) on Monday to help him to a top-10 finish as the Ravens took home a sixth place finish at the Northeast-10 Championship at En Joie Golf Course.
Landry finished his tournament strong after his great Sunday performance, putting him in a tie for ninth. Not far behind him finishing in a tie for 18th was sophomore Taylor Simpson (Londonderry, N.H.), who shot a 77 (+5) for the second consecutive day. Then packed in all in a row in the middle of the board are sophomore Will Pennington (Heswall, England), senior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.), and freshman Taylor Morang (Winthrop, Maine). Pennington shot his second consecutive day of 81 (+9) to finish in a tie for 36th, while Adjutant and Morang each picked up a finish tied for 39th. Adjutant shot an 82 (+10) to pair with his previous day 81, while Morang did just the opposite by shooting an 81 (+9) to go with his previous day 82.
Southern New Hampshire would take the team championship after playing a one-hole playoff against LeMoyne, sinking a birdie on the hole to take the win. The Penman received a top showing from freshman Gavin Dugas, who shot a second day 68 (-4) finishing in a tie for third. Winning the individual medal was John Claire of LeMoyne, while Brett Chatfield of Bentley finished second.
The Ravens return to action this Friday and Saturday, October 9 and 10 when they travel to Guilderland, N.Y. to play in the Saint Rose Fall Shootout at Pinehaven Country Club.
