Pennington climbs up leaderboard, cards 73 as Men’s Golf finishes seventh at Bello Invitational

BALDWINSVILE, N.Y. (April 20, 2015) – Freshman Charles Pennington (Heswall, England) carded a score of 73, the second best score of the day in the whole field as the Franklin Pierce University Ravens Men's Golf team finished with the second best team score of the day with a 311, but overall finished seventh at the Mike Bello Invitational hosted by LeMoyne College at Timber Banks Golf Club.

Pennington also used his 73 to help push him to the best finish out of any Raven, in a tie for 17th with a tournament total of 160 (+16). Junior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) finished right behind Pennington in 19th, a tournament total of 161 (+17) after shooting a 79 on the day. Freshman Chris Pasto (Newton, N.H.) outplayed his Sunday score as well, as he shot a 79 to add to the list of Ravens under 80 for the day. His tournament total came to a 167 (+23), finishing in a tie for 36th. Freshman Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) equaled his total from Sunday, as she shot yet another 86 on Monday for a tournament total of 172 (+28), putting him in a tie for 44th. The final Raven in action was freshman Hunter Byram (Coventry, Conn.), as he improved 13 strokes from his Sunday total by shooting an 80 on Monday, as he finished in a tie for 47th with a two-day total of 173 (+29). 

St. Thomas Aquinas took home the team championship by turning in scores of 304 each day for a two-day total of 608 (+32), finishing 12 strokes ahead of second place LeMoyne. Southern New Hampshire's Jake Nutter took home the individual championship by shooting his second 72 of the tournament, for a total of 144 (E). 

The Ravens now eagerly wait to find out the fait of their season, as they hang in the balance of a regional selection.
