CONCORD, N.H. (October 5, 2014) – Freshman John Abbott (Higganum, Conn.) shot a 73 on Sunday to lead the Franklin Pierce men's golf team to a fifth place finish at the Southern New Hampshire University Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire at the Concord Country Club.

Abbott's was in a four-way tie for second behind leader John Clancy from Southern New Hampshire after day one. However, things shook out differently on Sunday, as the field jumped around. Abbott stayed consistent through the weekend, giving him the solid finish.

Junior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) finished his final day with a 77, putting him in a tie for 11th. After that, junior Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) brought home an 80, while freshman Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) carded an 82 for the second consecutive day. Freshman Chris Pasto (Newton, N.H.) finished off his first collegiate tournament with a round of 83 after a solid 79 on Saturday.

LeMoyne won the team bracket after being the only team to card under 300 with a 296 on Saturday, and bringing home another solid day on Sunday shooting a 301 for a weekend total of 597. Second place Bentley finished six strokes back, followed by Daemen and Holy Cross, then Franklin Pierce in fifth. Finishing after the Ravens was American International, Southern New Hampshire, Saint Anselm, Post, Saint Michael's, and Dominican.

The Ravens return to the course next weekend at the Saint Rose Shootout in Guilderland, N.Y.
