CONCORD, N.H. (October 4, 2014) – Freshman John Abbott (Higganum, Conn.) shot  72 on Saturday to lead the Franklin Pierce men's golf team to a sixth place finish after day one at the Southern New Hampshire University Invitational hosted by Southern New Hampshire at the Concord Country Club.

Abbott's 72 puts him in a four-way tie for second behind leader John Clancy from Southern New Hampshire. Junior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) finished his day with a 76, the second best Raven score on the day. After that, junior Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) and Chris Pasto (Newton, N.H.) both finished with a 79, while freshman Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) was the only Raven outside the 70's, carding an 82.

LeMoyne leads the team bracket after being the only team to card under 300 with a 296. After  LeMoyne is Bentley, Daemen, Holy Cross, Southern New Hampshire, then Franklin Pierce in sixth. After the Ravens, Assumption and American International tied for seventh, followed by Saint Anselm, Post, Saint Michael's, and Dominican.

The Ravens take back to the links for day two of the tournament on Sunday at the Concord Country Club in Concord, N.H.
