Men’s Golf finishes tied for fourth in Northeast-10 Championships
NEW LONDON, N.H. (September 28, 2014) – Freshman John Abbott (Higganum, Conn.) 75 on Sunday, finishing tied for tenth, helping lead the Franklin Pierce University men's golf team to a fourth place tie at the Northeast-10 Championships help at Lake Sunnapee Country Club.
Abbott had a two day total of 151, which came as the Ravens top score of the two-day championship.
However, the top score of the day came from freshman Hunter Byram (Coventry, Conn.) who shot a 73, resulting in a two day total of 153, which also tied teammate and junior Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) for second best on the team, and giving them a T16 on the leaderboard. Auclair shot a 78 on Sunday to supplement his 75 finish a day earlier.
Freshman Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) shot a 78 for the second consecutive day to finish with a 156, with put him in a tie for 26th. Junior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) rounded out the Ravens participation by shooting a 75 on Sunday, bettering his score from a day earlier.
Bentley University took the team championship, as all five golfers shot in the 70's. The Falcons were led by Malcolm Oliver, who shot a total 147 over the two days, giving him a third place finish.
Taking the individual championship was host Southern New Hampshire's Jake Nutter. Nutter shot a spectacular 134, six under par for the tournament, wrapping his championship up with a tournament best score of 66 on Sunday.
The Ravens take on the links again next weekend, October 4-5 for the Southern New Hampshire University Invitational at the Concord Country Club in Concord, N.H.
