Men’s Golf tied for fifth after day one of Northeast-10 Championships

NEW LONDON, N.H. (September 27, 2014) – Junior Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) shot a 75 (+5) to place himself tied for tenth after the first day of the Northeast-10 Championships held at Lake Sunapee Country Club in New London, N.H. by host Southern New Hampshire University.  Auclair's score also has helped the Ravens to a tie for fifth in the team standings.

Freshman John Abbott (Higganum, Conn.) and Tom Arisco (Cheshire, Conn.) were the other Ravens who shot in the 70's, with Abbott shooting a 76 (+6) and Arisco finishing with a 78 (+8), giving them each a spot in the top 25 of the field of competition. Other Ravens in the field were freshman Hunter Byram (Coventry, Conn.) who finished with an 80 (+10) and junior Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) who ended with an 86 (+16).

 Leading the field individually is Southern New Hampshire's Jake Nutter, who shot a 68 (-2), the only player who finished under par on the day. However, it's second and third place finishers in the field in Jon Stoddard and Cal Meyers from Bentley University who are currently sitting pretty, as the Falcons have the team lead, shooting a total 297, two strokes ahead of the host Southern New Hampshire Penman.

Sitting in third only four strokes off the team lead is LeMoyne College, followed by Assumption, American International, Franklin Pierce, Saint Michael's, Saint Rose, Saint Anselm, and Adelphi.

The tournament will conclude on Sunday evening from Lake Sunapee Country Club.
