Golf Finishes 9th out of 16 at Elms Blazer Invitational
French ties for 19th with an 81
CHICOPEE, Mass. (October 2, 2013) -- The Franklin Pierce University men's golf team shot a 342 (+54) to place ninth out of 16 teams at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Wednesday in Chicopee, Mass.
The Ravens were led by freshman Ben French (Fremont, N.H.), who shot a nine-over-par, 81, to finish in a tie for 19th place.
Cameron Gilbert (Braintree, Mass.) was the other Raven to finish among the top-40 of the individual standings, as he placed 34th after carding an 85 (+13).
Jack Manning (North Reading, Mass.) tied for 41st after shooting an 86 (+14), while Josh Rubenstein (Stoughton, Mass.) was the fourth Raven to count towards the team score, as he fired a 90 (+18). Brent Pacheco (Rehoboth, Mass.) was the fifth Raven to compete in the tournament, as he placed 63rd with a 92 (+20).
Host-school Elms College won the tournament after carding a 22-over-par, 310.
