Men's Golf Caps 2013-14 Season with Exciting First-Place Finish at Plante Invitational
Nick Adjutant finishes in second place in a tournament for the second time this spring
CHARLTON, Mass. (April 21, 2014) – Sophomore Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) fired a five-over-par, 76, to tie for second place and lead the Franklin Pierce University men’s golf team to a first-place finish out of eight teams at Monday’s Joe Plante Collegiate Invitational at the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, Mass.
The Ravens concluded their 2013-14 season with the exciting finish by carding a score of 26-over-par, 310, and finished ahead of Division I opponent Holy Cross, which was second with a total of 315 (+31).
Adjutant finished second in a tournament for the second time this spring, and for the first time since turning the trick at the Bentley Cape Cod Classic on April 5. It was also the third time this spring a Raven finished among the top-two in the individual standings of a tournament, as classmate Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) also had a runner-up finish at the AIC 36-Hole Classic 10 days ago.
Auclair also had an outstanding final spring round on Monday, as he and classmate Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.) each tied for fourth as they shot a pair of 77s (+6).
Freshman Ben French (Fremont, N.H.) tied for 10th after shooting a season-low round of 80 (+9), while Adam Gagnon (Nashua, N.H.) was the other Raven to compete on the afternoon, as he finished 38th with a 100.
