Nick Adjutant Sits in First Place Following Round One of Bentley Classic

Adjutant fires a 33 on the back nine to come home strong

ROUND ONE SCORES

PLYMOUTH, Mass. (April 4, 2014) – Franklin Pierce University sophomore golfer Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) fired an even-par, 71, Friday to sit in a tie for first place after round one of the Bentley Cape Cod Classic at the Atlantic Golf Club in Plymouth, Mass. Adjutant’s performance enabled the Ravens to sit in third place after round one as they carded a 36-over-par, 324.

American International is in first place after shooting a 313 on Friday.

Adjutant struggled a bit going out with a 38 on the front nine, but turned things around by coming home strong with a 33 on the back.

Two other Raven sophomores joined Adjutant among the top-14 in the individual standings, including Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.) and Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.), in 12th and 14th place, respectively.  Auclair shot an 82 (+11), while Shepard fired an 83 (+12).

Freshman Ben French (Fremont, N.H.) shot an 88 (+17) to tie for 27th after 18 holes, while classmate Cameron Gilbert (Braintree, Mass.) logged a 107 to sit in 35th heading into Saturday’s final round.
