TOURNAMENT RESULTS

MANORVILLE, N.Y. (March 29, 2014) – The Franklin Pierce University golf team shot a 63-over-par, 487, in the rain-shortened 27-hole Peter King Memorial Tournament (hosted by Dowling College) this weekend to finished tied for sixth at the Rock Hill Country Club in Manorville, N.Y. Nyack shot a 453 (+29) to win the team title.

The tournament’s first round was played on Friday, and was 18 holes, while Saturday’s final round was shortened to just nine holes due to inclement weather blanketing the New York region.

Sophomore Nick Adjutant (Rochester, N.H.) shot a two-day total of 114 (+8) to finish in seventh place in the individual standings. He carded a seven-over, 78, in soggy conditions on Friday, and followed with another respectable score of 36 (+1) on Saturday.

The rest of the individual standings were incomplete, but four other Ravens competed on the weekend, including classmate Brad Auclair (Cumberland, R.I.), who fired a 117 (+11). He shot an 81 in round one, but came back with a solid one-over-par, 36, on Saturday.

Sophomore Sean Shepard (Griswold, Conn.) carded a 123 (+17), including an opening round 84 and a second round 39. He was followed by freshmen Ben French (Fremont, N.H.) and Cameron Gilbert (Braintree, Mass.), who shot a 133 (+27) and 136 (+30), respectively. French carded scores of 89 and 44, while Gilbert logged rounds of 90 and 46.

The Ravens return to action next weekend at the Bentley Cape Cod Classic.
