Franklin Pierce Places 10th at WNEC Invitational

Kreps lead Ravens with round of 81 for 27th overall  

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (April 13, 2006) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team placed 10th at the Western New England College Invitational, hosted by the par-72 Veterans Golf Course, this afternoon.

Franklin Pierce posted a 344 team score in the 12-team field, which also included fellow Northeast-10 Conference member American International College (373). Western New England and UMass Dartmouth both posted 306 team scores, but WNEC was awarded the team title as a result of having the best fifth player score. UMass Dartmouth's Tyler Kett earned medallist honors as he carded an even-par round of 72.

Freshman Jason Kreps (Culver, Ind./Culver Military Academy) led Franklin Pierce with a round of 81 for a 27th-place finish overall. Freshman Steve Balchunas (Brockton, Mass./Coyle Cassidy) carded an 85 (35th place) for the Ravens, while senior David Reid (Cape Elizabeth, Maine/Cape Elizabeth) registered an 86 (36th).

Franklin Pierce returns to the links on Tuesday for the Worcester State Invitational in Sterling, Mass.
