Franklin Pierce Men's Golf Places 35th at NEIGA Championship

Nackoul leads Ravens with two-day score of 164

BREWSTER, Mass. (October 24, 2001) - The Franklin Pierce men's golf team rounded out its fall season with a 35th place finish at the elite New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at par-72 Captains Course this week.

The Ravens fired a two-day score of 693 and finished tied for fifth among the seven Northeast-10 Conference teams in the 46-school event, which included 15 NCAA Division I institutions.

Franklin Pierce was led by sophomore Aaron Nackoul (Pittsfield, Mass./Pittsfield) who recorded a two-day total of 164 (+20) to tie for 97th place among 229 individuals. Nackoul shot an opening round 78, which was good for a 40th-place tie.

Sophomore Alex Hodgman (Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) added a score of 171 (84-87) to tie for 134th, while freshman Nick Matulonis (Springfield, Vt./Springfield) posted a two-day score of 179 (85-94).

Sophomore Chris DeGeorge (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) and freshman Keith Medros (Salem, Mass./Bishop Fenwick) both totaled 187.
