Men’s Bowling Competes at First Ever Meet Saturday in New Jersey

Bowling pins being knocked down

ELMWOOD PARK, N.J. (October 28, 2017) – The Franklin Pierce University men's bowling squad began their inaugural season with a trip to the Parkway Lanes in Elmwood Park, N.J. for the Stevens Invitational Saturday.

As a team, the men placed 10th out of 10 teams at the invite, but the Ravens bowled down a player all day as four bowlers counted for the standings instead of the usual five.

Freshman Nick Fabiano (Emerson, N.J.) led all Raven players with a 15th place finish in singles action as he averaged a 177 across singles and doubles play while shooting a high game of 221. In total Fabiano dropped 570 pins over three games, which gave the Ravens their only bowler ranked within the top-20 individually.

Fellow freshman Ben Drogue (Keene, N.H.) tallied the high game of the invitational in doubles play for the Crimson and Grey as he dropped a 250 while averaging a team-best 186 over six frames. Senior William Robinson (Keene, N.H.) racked up a 185 average and a personal-best frame of 210. Sophomore Ryan DesRuisseaux's (Goffstown, N.H.) high game was a 177 and he averaged a 142 score.

In doubles play, the duo of Drogue and Fabiano took home a 13th place finish as they dropped 1,086 pins. Drogue's high total of 250 came in the doubles play portion of the invitational. Teammates DesRuisseaux and Robinson also notched a top-20 doubles play finish as they rolled over 1,068 pins. Both of their high scores came during the doubles round.

Franklin Pierce returns to the lanes tomorrow for EIBC #1 at the Holiday Bowl in Oakland, N.J.
